Business Central for Canadian companies
We are a Business Central consultancy with teams in Europe and across several US states, working with Canadian companies in English. Business Central ships with a Microsoft-built Canadian localization — GST, HST, PST and QST, bilingual English–French documents, CAD reporting — so the tax layer is included rather than being a separate subscription. We handle the migration, the development and the integrations, with each part invoiced only after you accept it.
What we do
NAV & GP migrations
Object inventory, C/AL or Dexterity triage, data validated against your live system, phased go-live with the old system read-only as a fallback.
AL development
Clean extensions that survive the two annual updates. Code in your repository, documentation with every delivery.
Integrations
Shopify, EDI, WMS, banks, CRM, Avalara/Vertex — over REST APIs and OData. We rebuild NAV-era SQL integrations for the cloud.
Reporting & Power BI
The four included Power BI apps, financial reports, and consolidated multi-entity views.
AI agents
Payables, sales orders and expenses, switched on over one measured process with human approval in the loop.
Project rescue
Independent audit when an implementation stalls: what exists, what is broken, what finishing costs.
Licensing (CAD)
| Plan | Who it's for | Price per user / month |
|---|---|---|
| Essentials | Finance, sales, purchasing, inventory, warehouse, projects | CAD list |
| Premium | Adds manufacturing and service management — only if you need them | CAD list |
| Team Members | Approvals, dashboards, read-only, time entry | CAD list |
Microsoft publishes Canadian list prices in CAD — ask us for the current figures with your user count. Tax: GST/HST/PST/QST come with Microsoft's Canadian localization, updated with the system. A domestic Canadian company often needs no third-party tax engine at all; cross-border US selling is where Avalara or Vertex earns its fee, and we'll tell you which case you are.
What a project costs
| Profile | Typical project cost (CAD) |
|---|---|
| Small: one entity, standard processes, 5-15 users | CAD 35,000-65,000 |
| Mid-market: multi-province tax, 1-2 integrations, 15-50 users | CAD 65,000-140,000 |
| Complex: multi-entity, cross-border US/Canada, heavy customization | CAD 140,000+ |
Project cost is one-off; licences are recurring. Most companies need far fewer full users than headcount — the Essentials vs Premium decision is usually worth more than any negotiated discount.
How we work
- Free assessment in five working days: your system, customizations, integrations and an indicative budget.
- Scope split into parts, each with written acceptance criteria.
- Each part invoiced only after you accept it. No upfront payment, no retainers you can't cancel.
- Everything is yours: code in your repository, documentation with every delivery, tenant in your name.
Central Europe overlaps with the Toronto and Montreal morning, and the development cycle delivers overnight what your team reviews at 9am. French-language document layouts are configuration we set up; if you need day-to-day French-language consulting, we'll pair with a local resource and say so rather than pretend otherwise.

Proof, not adjectives
- A two-year client relationship with a US distribution company that came from SAP — inventory reconciliation, custom AL objects and ongoing development. They started with a small paid test, then engaged part by part. Named reference available under NDA.
- Microsoft certified: MB-800 (Business Central Functional Consultant) and MB-820 (Business Central Developer).
- Seven Business Central apps published under our Abadyn brand.
- NAV 2009 → Business Central SaaS migrations running in production.
Questions we get asked first
Is the Canadian localization really from Microsoft?
Yes — GST/HST, provincial tax, bilingual documents and CAD reporting are Microsoft's own, updated with each release. That is not true everywhere; in much of Latin America tax compliance depends on partner localizations.
Do I need Avalara in Canada?
Often not. A domestic Canadian company is usually served by the standard localization. Cross-border US sales or complex nexus is where a tax engine pays for itself.
What about Canadian payroll?
Not included. Integrate a Canadian payroll provider and post journals — standard practice, but budget for it.
Are Microsoft migration incentives available in Canada?
Bridge to Cloud for on-premises Dynamics customers applies in Canada too. Terms change; we check what is current before you build a business case on it.
